Mobile Pet Adoption / Marketing


This position requires a person with outstanding customer relation skills and a sense of adventure!

As a member of HAWS' Mobile Adoption Center marketing team, you are responsible for sharing the mission of HAWS throughout the community and showcasing adoptable pets in remote locations. The ideal person must have the ability to oversee booth activities, volunteer assistance and work closely to develop a relationship with adoption partners and businesses in Waukesha County. An interest in animal welfare is important. The right person will be self-directed, enthusiastic, and enjoy meeting and conversing with the public to spread HAWS' mission and vision.


Job duties include transporting to and promoting adoptable pets at various locations throughout Waukesha County and Southeastern Wisconsin, assisting with remote adoption sites and events.


Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be insurable on HAWS' vehicles, and have an excellent driving record.
- Must be able to work directly with and handle cats/kittens, dogs/puppies and small animals.



Hours
Where hours are flexible, they include most Saturdays from 8am-3pm plus some Sundays. Pay rate is based on experience. This is a part time position; if you are flexible, it may lead to a full time opportunity.

Animal Care

Permanent Part Time and Permanent Full Time

Positions are currently available in HAWS’ Animal Care Area; both flexible permanent part time and full time positions. Must be available either Saturday and/or Sunday every week. Positions exist for both day and evening (3:00-7:00pm) hours.

These positions are perfect for animal lovers who enjoy an active environment. Job duties include feeding, walking, cleaning of animal quarters, building maintenance chores, some animal grooming, shots and administration of medication. The qualified candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic and energetic. Must be able to work with all species of domestic animals and some wildlife. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds and work safely on slippery surfaces in an active kennel environment. Prior experience with animal handling in a large scale animal environment is a plus; a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, clean driving record and the ability to be covered by HAWS’ auto insurance policy required for the full time position and a plus for those seeking part time work.

Pay is commensurate with experience.

• Requires contact with the public that involves a high degree of courtesy.
• Requires ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Requires the ability to work under pressure and under noisy conditions on slippery surfaces.
• Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and work standing for long periods of time as the nature of the position is animal handling and maintenance of animal quarters.


Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to Kennel Managers.

Adoption / Reception

Flexible Permanent Part Time

Positions are currently available for HAWS front office Adoption/Reception Staff. Flexible permanent part time positions are available with the possibility of leading to a full time opportunity. Must be available either Saturday and/or Sunday every week. Hours are flexible but range from 8:30am - 6:30pm, Monday thru Friday; 8:30am – 4:45pm on Saturday and 11:00am – 4:45pm on Sunday.

These positions are perfect for animal lovers who enjoy working as part of a team and with the public, in a fast-paced and diverse environment. Duties include receiving animals, assisting with adoptions, animal education and a variety of activities including light maintenance of the office area. The qualified candidate will have exceptional, proven customer service skills and organization abilities. Must be comfortable in a noisy, distracting environment. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. The qualified candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic and energetic. Must be able to work with all species of domestic animals and some wildlife. A background in animal welfare is a plus but not required.
