Visit HAWS for one of our fun and informative animal care and behavior classes. They provide valuable information on responsible care for your companion animal. All seminars are held at the shelter.

The following programs are scheduled at regular intervals.

Canine Obedience Courses

Beginning Class:  A dog training class that utilizes positive reinforcement methods. Classes consist of six sessions, and are offered for adult dogs and puppies. The cost is $50 for dogs adopted from HAWS, and $75 for all other dogs.

Puppy Socialization Class:  This is for puppies ages 8 to 16 weeks of age. This 6 week class focuses on socialization, along with basic commands.

Tricks:  Want to have fun with your dog and impress your friends? Teaching your dog some tricks is a great way to accomplish both!

Intermediate:  This is a 6 week class for dogs who have completed a beginning class. Focus will be on advancing the skills the dog already knows.

Saturday, May 10
Puppy Socialization 9:30am-10:30am
Beginning 10:45am-11:45am
