DONATE TO HAWS!

HAWS is a charitable, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded primarily by donations and fundraising events.  We receive no governmental tax-based revenues, although some local governments do contract with us for animal control (impound) services on a cost basis.  Funds raised are used to provide for our animals, including proper veterinary care, quality food, warm beds and entertaining toys.  Funds also support education and outreach programs that promote responsible pet ownership and prevent animal abuse and neglect.  All donations are fully tax deductible as allowed by law.

Gifts of Love
One of the most meaningful ways to help animals is to make a gift in honor or in memory of a special person, animal or occasion.  We acknowledge your donation to us by sending a beautiful card to the giftee in your name.  Our thoughtful memorial cards let grieving loved ones know that you are thinking of them.


General Donations
General donations, both of money and supplies, help us provide shelter 24/7/365 for lost, abandoned, unwanted or stray companion pets.  These are welcome any time! Or, if you prefer, you may request that your gift be designated for a special fund, such as Annie's Fund for homeless animals needing medical care; the HAWS Mobile Adoption center; the Small Animal Fund for care of HAWS' rabbits, etc.; and sponsorships for our SNIP clinic, special events, or educational programs.

Workplace Giving
If you participate in the United Way or your employer’s workplace giving campaign, consider designating your contributions to HAWS. Workplace giving is an easy, convenient way to show your support for our mission.  HAWS is now also part of COMMUNITY SHARES MILWAUKEE!  Ask your employer to participate today!

And, be sure to look into the possibility of Doubling Your Money!  You may be able to increase your gift to HAWS through a workplace matching gift program.  Many companies will match or even double charitable contributions made by their employees.  Ask your personnel administrator about your employer's policy.  Sign and send the paperwork to our development office; we'll submit it and let you know when we receive your employer's matching grant.

Earn Money for HAWS While You Grocery Shop
Designate HAWS as your WE CARE charity:  Each time you use your Pick 'n Save Advantage Plus Savers Card, HAWS receives a cash rebate.  The more you use your card, the larger percentage of total WE CARE contribution HAWS receives.  Designate HAWS as your choice at the service counter in your favorite Pick ’n Save store.  Customer Service personnel can assist you with any questions you may have.  HAWS is Organization #338750.

Also, several local grocery stores have fundraising programs in which HAWS receives 1% credit for receipts that are submitted to the shelter. Be sure to send your receipts to HAWS every three months because they do expire!

Donate Your Drivable Vehicle and Help HAWS
HAWS has an agreement with Ranch Community Services in Menomonee Falls to participate in their vehicle donation program. You may donate a drivable vehicle to The Ranch and HAWS will receive a portion of the proceeds. The Ranch will repair and sell the vehicle. Benefits to the donor include tax deduction, release of vehicle, time and cost savings and no trade-in and sales hassles. This program is an excellent way to show your support of HAWS' mission.
