HAWS FACILITY EXPANSION
The HAWS facility expansion was approved by
the HAWS Board of Directors early in 2006 and
construction was completed in December, 2009.
The facility expansion called for the addition of
5,400 square feet of new space, along with the
reconfiguration of the existing 13,500 square foot facility.
Plans included separate housing areas that limited interaction between species, in
addition to improvements in ventilation to reduce the chances of disease transmission.
The bottom line: a healthy, stress-free pet has a greater chance of being adopted into
the right family and we're already seeing the positive results of that!
HAWS is also about education - we present a variety of classes, seminars and outreach programs each year. An educated adopter can make a better informed pet choice and be better prepared to adjust to life with their new family member. And, with classes and other resources available to them, any pet owner can be assured of a life-long, quality relationship with our companion animals.

We continue to fundraise for our everyday needs, along with offering our community the chance to leave their mark on the "new" HAWS, which includes our "Buy-a-Brick" program and sponsorship opportunities.
Buy-a-Brick/Tribute Paver Bricks
Our buy-a-brick fundraising program, called Tribute Paver Bricks has been so well received, we continue to make them available even now that our new expanded facility has been completed. Download the order form, complete the dedication section and send it with your payment to our shelter. We'll place it within the border of the shelter walkway that welcomes all visitors to HAWS!
