HAWS RESCUE
Not all animal shelters and humane societies have their own rescue department.

Mark Hess answers every call for help when it comes to rescuing animals.

In addition to saving domestic animals, Mark is also a State-licensed wildlife
facilitator and asserts that HAWS is equipped to handle any animal here in
Waukesha County.

That’s right! The HAWS rescue department helps area residents answer the
"call of the wild" by saving and providing rehabilitative care for injured, and
orphaned wildlife.

HAWS maintains the state and federal permits necessary to legally care for wildlife and works cooperatively with area wildlife rehabilitators. When necessary, HAWS rents humane, live traps for animals requiring capture and relocation. We strive to teach people to peacefully co-exist with wildlife.

If you are having a problem with a wild animal,
call the HAWS shelter at 262-542-8851.
