HAWS Outdoor Cat Program is making a dent in Waukesha County's cat overpopulation by spaying or neutering the county's free-roaming (feral) and barn cats for free. To participate in this program, call our SNIP clinic at 262-542-8851, x109.

Humane Officer Badge HAWS is proud to work with Waukesha County's Humane Officers. They are available 24 hours, 7 days a week through the Sheriff's dispatch to assist with the following:
  • Animal abuse and neglect investigations
  • Emergency assistance to law enforcement agencies
  • County-wide rabies control
  • Humane Animal education
Animal control issues like the following are NOT provided by County Humane Officers:
  • Reports of barking dogs
  • Stray animals running at large
  • Wildlife or domestic animal nuisance issues
Local municipalities are responsible for providing animal control services. Several municipalities contract with HAWS for animal control. Others request that you call your local police. Please click here to go the Waukesha Sheriff's Stray Animal Contacts By Municipality page to see who to call for your animal-related problem.
