P.A.L.S. - Pets Are Life Savers
Pets provide many things for seniors, such as a sense of well-being and encouragement, even
a reason to keep going! HAWS has partnered with the Aging & Disability Resource Center of
Waukesha County (ADRC) to bring assistance to seniors, their pets and caregivers.
Pet Health Fairs are offered throughout the year at HAWS, and ongoing programs and
counseling are offered. Call HAWS at 262-542-8851, or the ADRC at 262-548-7848.
Rabies Vaccinations & Licensing
The State of Wisconsin requires dogs over 6 months of age to have rabies vaccinations and be licensed annually. Contact your vet for vaccination information and your local city hall for licensing. HAWS recommends that your pets wear personalized tags containing contact information and phone numbers to aid in reuniting them with you. Additionally, we strongly recommend micro-chipping your pets. Contact HAWS or your vet for more information about micro-chipping.
Room Rentals
HAWS' large activity room is available for rent for your pet-related meeting or event. Contact Mark Hess, Facilities Manager, to get on our schedule at 262-542-8851, x108.
