Fund Raising Ideas
- Get married for HAWS: Hard to register because you have all you need for your home?
How about "registering" at HAWS? Encourage your guests to give a donation to HAWS
to honor your special day. Even better: we'll take care of the cards and acknowledgements for you!
- Hold a supply drive for our shelter: This works great for kid's birthday parties, anniversary get-togethers, etc.! Just check our Wish List for a list of what we need, or collect monetary donations to honor your special event!
- Special equipment purchases: Contact our office for our latest "big ticket" need.
- Collect blankets and towels for the kennel.
- Have a lemonade stand.
- Hold a car (or dog) wash!

Special Causes Within HAWS
Buy a brick, tile or plaque as a permanent memorial to a beloved person or pet,
contact our office to learn how! Sponsor-A-Spay for our SNIP clinic to help us combat pet
overpopulation and save lives every day. Put your donation towards a special HAWS' purchase,
such as our Animal Rescue trailer. We're happy to acknowledge your gift with your business
logo on our equipment!
Business Events & Special Event Sponsorships
Hold a fundraiser for HAWS:Local businesses are giving back and you can help them support the HAWS cause.
Underwriting one of our major fundraising events or education programs gives your organization an opportunity to participate in our mission and be associated with the valuable services and education we provide to the Waukesha County community. For more information, contact our Development office at 262-542-8851 x107 or our Education Department at x118.
Each year our Pet Walkathon committee volunteers seek event sponsors, raffle prize donations, "celebrity" guests and more. If you are interested in donating to or helping with this year's event, call the shelter to leave a message for the event chairperson.
Annually we seek both underwriting sponsors as well as live and silent auction item donors for our annual fall fundraiser, a festive night with great food, live entertainment, live and silent auctions, raffles, casino games and more, attended by more than 500 people. Call the Development office for the most up-to-date sponsorship information.
These individuals, families, businesses and groups are just a few that have held recent fundraisers and/or supply drives for HAWS! We are grateful for their support and thoughtfulness.
Pewaukee Family Chiropractic held their annual fundraising and supply drive for HAWS, bringing in cash, pet food, blankets and towels, cleaning supplies and more!
Pet Supplies Plus of Brookfield delivered a donation of pet food and treats, toys and rawhides!
Tracy Bohrer celebrated her 50th Birthday with a donation party for HAWS, matching the donations of her family and friends and contributing more than $600 to the HAWS cause.
Vrakas/Blum sponsored a Jeans Friday in spring, with HAWS as one of the designated charities receiving almost $700 in employee donations!
JX Enterprises' "Casual for a Cause" program resulted in an over $1000 donation to HAWS! The Hartland-based company allows its associates from their 16 locations to dress casual on Fridays for a donation, and the JX branch or business collecting the most money gets to choose the charity receiving all the donations. HAWS was definitely the WINNER in March!
Muskego Public Library's Chain Reaction Crochet Group donated blankets made by their Thursday Craft group!
Dr. Mandy Pearce and Pewaukee Family Chiropractic held a service-for-donation drive for HAWS - helping their patients feel good while doing good!
Deana Clark once again rallied the employees and residents of the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility for a supply drive for HAWS.
Robert Cheska and the Wisconsin Hunter/Jumper Association donated more than $800 and donated a car-full of supplies - along with the always needed postage stamps - all collected prior to and at their year-end banquet. (Pictured, at right, with HAWS staff and adoptables)
R&R Insurance Services, Inc. held a supply/donation drive for HAWS.
The Waukesha County Office of Corporation Counsel donated to HAWS as part
of their holiday celebrations.
The employees of Sattell, Johnson & Appel & Co., S.C. paid for the
privilege of wearing jeans on Fridays - donating $400 to HAWS to do so!
Renee Wagner of Whyte, Hirschboeck, Dudek S.C. took advantage of her
firm's "Whyte Lights" program that supports their community, donating
$100 to HAWS to help with the October dog rescue!
The 2014 Waukesha Zombie Walk raised almost $300 for HAWS.
Applied Adhesives, Pewaukee Vet Service, Imagine Salon, Evoqua Water Tech
and Dairyland Hamilton Inc. held very successful (!) supply and donation
drives for HAWS during the 2014 holiday season.
The City of Delafield Police Department dropped off pet supplies and food along
with a generous cash donation from their holiday drive in December.
Troopers, Inspectors, Dispatchers and office staff for the Wisconsin State
Patrol's South East Region gathered donations for HAWS, filling the entire
back seat of a State Patrol Cruiser for the WISDOT'S Cram the Cruiser
Challenge in August.
The Stolp Family held their 7th annual Pirate Party in August, asking
their guests to bring HAWS Wish List items. The family dropped off
their "booty"...and a picture from the festivities! (at right)
Good Harvest Market of Waukesha held an Ice Cream Social/5% Donation
Day for HAWS, while also collecting donations for HAWS from their Cafe
Tip Jar. All told, their efforts resulted in over $2000 donated to our shelter!
Brett and Jen Summers held a supply and fund drive for HAWS at their
business, Top Line Training. They're efforts were inspired by the memory
of Champ, their beloved HAWS alumni dog (pictured, right).
First Weber - Lake Country's 5th annual Take Your Dog To Work Day
raised a best-yet, incredible total of $7000 for HAWS!

The Garden Mart of Mukwonago held their annual Pet Expo...
and HAWS got to join in the fun!
The Accounting Department, led by Sharon Gale, at Fiserv in New
Berlin held a fund and supply drive for HAWS.
Lucky Dog Park of Port Washington held a dog treat and bandana
sale to raise money for HAWS.
Kim Poole of Shorewest Realtors held a supply drive for HAWS.
The Oconomowoc Women's Club donated $250 to HAWS.
Taco John's Waukesha again held their Nachos Navidad holiday fundraiser
for HAWS...breaking their record donation by bringing in close to $2600!
Dusty and her staff continue to make sure the holidays (and beyond!) are
happy for HAWS and the animals in our care! (pictured below left)
Jack Safro Ford and Jack Safro Toyota encourage their car-buyers to
designate a "thank you" give-back donation whenever a vehicle is purchased.
Since this program started in 2011, HAWS has received extensive monthly
donations, often of $1000 or more from the dealerships!
Davies Orthodontics is at it again - this time donating $10,000 to HAWS
from their Wooden Nickels patient program!
In January, 2014, the employees of CorVel Corporation of Waukesha raised
money and collected supplies for HAWS, bringing in more than $415!
